Careers
At Croxby Primary School, we believe in raising aspirations and encouraging every child to think about the important life skills they need for their future from an early age. Our curriculum vision is centered around our 'Aim High' philosophy, which focuses on high aspirations, fostering a growth mindset, resilience, and a sense of purpose in our students.
We understand the importance of linking learning to real-life outcomes. By framing our teaching through key enquiry questions aligned with the Career Development Framework (CDI), we ensure that every lesson connects to a broader world beyond the classroom. The books we read, the trips we take, and the visitors we welcome are all carefully chosen to introduce learners to a wide range of careers, paths, and stories as well as economic well-being.
Throughout the year, children will explore careers from various fields, including STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), the services, such as police and healthcare providers, arts and entertainment, education, business and entrepreneurship, environmental sciences, sports and fitness, and many more. These real-world examples serve to inspire our learners, showing them that there are countless opportunities ahead and helping them understand the steps needed to achieve their goals.
This year, we are also collaborating with local primary schools in our cluster to work towards achieving the Careers Mark Quality Award, further cementing our commitment to creating a vibrant, future-focused learning environment for all our learners.
